Money Booth Mania

Posted by houlegames on March 27, 2012 | No Comments

Imagine this, money swirling in the air waiting for you to catch as much of it as you can! It may sound a dream, but with our cash grab money booths this can become a reality. Our money booths are the perfect item for your next promotional event, special event, or tradeshow. With each rental we provide a bundle of “fun money” and safety goggles to wear inside the booth (safety first, kids!). Both of our money booths allow for branding and are extremely eye catching.

Recently our deluxe money booth was used at two different events, one for The Pacific Dental Conference and the other for 99.3 The Fox. At the conference people were able to come by the booth and try to catch as much money as possible. The person who caught the most money not only received a Keg gift certificate, but the amount of money they caught was donated to Save A Smile Foundation. For 99.3 The Fox they had the booth at several different locations for their Subway Cash Grab promotion throughout February. The booth was filled with $5 fun money bills to go with Subway’s $5 footlong deal. The person who caught the most at each location walked away with cold hard cash!

Electronic Arts Canada Staff Party

Posted by houlegames on February 14, 2012 | No Comments

Staff appreciation parties are the perfect time for companies to show their gratitude towards their hard working staff. A great reward is an event filled with exciting entertainment, such as this event we did in January for Electronic Arts. This fun event took place at the newly renovated Science World in Vancouver. We provided our Deluxe Money Booth, Temporary Airbrush Tattoos, CD Recording Studio, Psychic Artists and a Digital Caricature Artist. The EA staff had a chance to win the cash that they caught in the money booth, recorded some music, sported some “ink”, saw a glimpse into their futures and then received personalized caricatures. A fun time had by all!

New products and games for 2012

Posted by houlegames on February 1, 2012 | No Comments

Hello everyone and hello 2012! A new year for us means new games and products. This year we acquired three new items from the annual buyer’s trade show that we attend. We are very excited to share these new items with you as each of them fits many different event types and themes.

First is our Xtreme Board Combo. Are you planning a winter, sports, or Hawaiian themed event? Perhaps you are looking for a fun activity for a community event, dry grad, or staff party? If so, this is the game for you! Our Xtreme Board Combo allows you to snowboard, skateboard or surfboard as you try to balance on the mechanical board. The longer you can balance on the board the more challenging it becomes. Once the first player falls off, the game will show their time on the digital read out and then the next player will try to beat that time. This game can be used at so many different themed events as the board and backdrop can be transformed into whichever board sport you choose. The skate park, the snowy mountains or the wild waves, the choice is yours!

Our second game is Jacobs Ladder, which is great for team building, staff appreciation, dry grads, and community events. Our Jacobs Ladder Inflatable game allows two players at a time to race against each other by climbing their horizontal ladders as fast as they can. The challenge is trying to stay balanced on the ladder while move quicker than your opponent. The first player who makes it to the other side of the unit without falling off is the winner!

Lastly are our 4 new carnival games, which include Potty-Toss, Ring Toss, Shockwave and Stand-A-Bottle. In combination with our other carnival games, dunk tank, high striker, mechanical bull, and airbrush tattoos, they create a perfect midway or carnival themed event.

“As Seen on TV” Event

Posted by houlegames on October 31, 2011 | No Comments

We recently did a staff appreciation event and it was sure a lot of fun! The event had an “As Seen on TV” theme and included Jeopardy, The Sports Network, Wipeout, So You Think You Can Dance?, Canadian Idol and much more.
The Sports Network featured baseball, golf and hockey. Our Longest Drive Challenge Golf game had many players swinging to see how far they can drive their golf balls. Fastball Speed Pitch had friends and colleagues trying to beat the fastest pitch of the evening, 80 mph! The Top Shot Hockey was a favorite and had a crowd around it the whole night. Canadian Idol featured our CD Recording Studio. The idol’s got to record their very first album in our recording booth and now they have the custom labeled CD’s to prove it! Wipeout had brave contestants going through our Gauntlet and Velcro Obstacle Course inflatable games. So You Think You Can Dance had everyone bustin’ a move on our Dance Dance Revolution arcade game. Jeopardy featured a game show with customized trivia and let’s not forget the host, Alex Trebek! With such great entertainment, actors, and décor, it is no wonder why this event was such a great success.

How to Plan a Company Picnic

Posted by houlegames on June 7, 2011 | No Comments

Spring is finally here and it is the perfect time of the year for company picnics and corporate BBQ’s. Have you started to plan your company picnic? It can seem overwhelming if it is your first time planning one, but rest assured we can give you some helpful pointers!

1.) 4 months in advance: Figure Out a Budget It doesn’t matter if you are working with a budget in the hundreds or the thousands, you will still be able to plan a fun, staff get-together. You just need to figure out what funds are available so you know how much you can allot to each area.

2.) 4-3 months in advance: Pick a Date and Venue Try to pick a date that will work for the majority of your staff. Saturdays and Sundays are always good options, but try to avoid holidays and special days where your staff may already have plans, ex. Canada Day and Fathers Day. A good time for a picnic is in between 10 AM – 4 PM which will leave enough time to eat, mingle and enjoy the entertainment. Keep in mind that there are free and inexpensive venues available (office parking lot, public park or backyard). Since some entertainment cannot be operated in the rain, try to plan a back up location incase it decides to drizzle.

3.) 3 months in advance: Plan a Guest List For most company picnics, the staff and their immediate family is invited. This means that you will need to think about food and entertainment that the kids will also enjoy. For staff BBQ’s usually just the staff is invited, which means you will be able to plan a more adult oriented event.

4.) 3-2 months in advance: Plan the Entertainment We may be a bit biased, but this is the most important part! Planning the entertainment needs to be done as soon as possible, as spring and summer are a busy time for rental companies. Are there young children attending the event? Try a Bouncy Castle, Face Painter, Carnival Games and Horsey Hops. How about teenagers? Plan for a Bungee Run, Velcro Obstacle Course, Airbrush Tattoos and Sumo Wrestling. What about the adults? Try the Mechanical Bull, Bouncy Boxing, Volleyball and Fastball Pitch. The possibilities are endless!

5.) 2-1 month(s) in advance: Get The Word Out Send an official invite in the mail to your staff so they can pencil in the event. Advertise the fun games and entertainment that will be at the picnic around the work place to get everyone excited.

6.) 3-1 days(s) in advance: Buy Food, Drinks and Supplies Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, veggie & fruit platters, salad, veggie dogs, veggie burgers, potato salad, corn on the cob are all popular food choices for these types of events. A Cotton Candy Machine, Popcorn Machine and Slush Machine are also great snack ideas. If you have the budget, you may want to hire a catering company so there is one less thing to think about.

7.) Day of the event: Enjoy the Picnic Everything is in place and ready to go. Congratulations, you have just planned an excellent company picnic!

BAM! KA-POW! WHAMM!
Check out our Bouncy Boxing! The Pan Pacific Whistler hosted a “Superhero” themed party for their staff and dueled it out in our Bouncy Boxing ring. The sun was out and the costumes were on, it looked like everyone had a great time.
Our Bouncy Boxing could be a great additional to your next event. Put on the oversized padded gloves, jump around in our inflatable ring and throw some lower body jabs!
